Liferaft bought

It's Sunday, the 15. July. But still much better: Summer is here! 🙂 Finally!

Therefore, it should now go for me sometimes to blow out a trial on the Baltic Sea. Where I do not know yet as accurate. Maybe in the loop to Kappeln? A stormy test drive has already brought Annabelle last weekend behind him, I had a visit from George (George: Bahama see chapter to Maverick Report…) and we reefed storm jib and large hours with up to 7 Nodes have the Baltic durchflügt.

Unfortunately, my test drive, this time only for one night, because on Monday night, I must already be back in Kiel, Term… But did the first time since I left, I will sail again Maverick single-handed in another port. Let's see, again arises whether the Maverickfeeling.

Our summer cruise will then probably be well to wait a few weeks to be, But at least I'm sure now this week schonmal bought a freshly serviced offshore life raft, für einen wirklich fairen und studentenfreundlichen Preis 🙂 Danke nochmal, Uwe!

When I Kristina yesterday afternoon over coffee proudly presented the bag lying in the living room with the 4-person island, However, we both were thinking a little, how we should store the huge thing to save space in the cabin. But the description of the island to read schonmal very interesting: “Rainwater collection device, Internal and external lighting, Protection from the cold ground, inflatable roof, …”
“Does this thing even a loo??”, Kristina's comment was. Finally, we concluded, that it would be more comfortable probably, go with the life raft on Ostseetörn, as with Annabelle. “Even a sea anchor is, then we can even drop anchor at night! But since no Palmtree inflates to? Is it ne’ Island!”

Despite everything, humor, joke with the island, we hope, of course, they need to never see the inside. But it's a nice feeling, such a good island to have on board. The island which I've driven across the Atlantic was in fact the difference is that a very favorable type Arimar. Although brand new, but thought a cheap thing, and also for coastal waters. Then it was very disturbing to read about my journey in which a German sailing magazine, that had an island of the same manufacturer and type of failure in the test and not fire. This experience in the middle of the Atlantic, I like to dispense. Now, with age comes the wisdom to me, never leave again with such a rubber island.

Tomorrow it will then go for a short lay. I am very excited and will report!
