In cases where a few days back, but I must still be reported here again: My Australian friend Nick is with his Contessa 26 after 743 Days and 17.000 Nautical miles at home arrived in Australia! I'm very happy with him.

Have the last few days his old logbooks www.bigoceans.com read again (characters no less than a 300-page book) and happy thought of the time back, as we sailed along the first miles of Bursleton at Hamble River across to Belgium and Holland. Here, here and here You can read my reports.

In addition to the undoubtedly enormous power of such a long trip in a boat just 7.77m long, it is especially Nick determination, that impressed me. In order to afford the boat can, He has a good year of 11,50 € daily living, including rent of 10 Euro. These are 1,50 Euros for food per day - in Berlin! Pasta and tuna, daily. The cold of the morning coffee in the afternoon he drank with milk and cocoa.

Nick, congratulations for the journey! Madness, what have you done …
