Plumbing

The modernization phase has begun. Planned work for Wedel:

– Pressure washer and get the tubing close to all new

– Water loss in the internal engine cooling circuit are on the ropes

– clunky circuit set out new

– install new toilet 🙂

– No drainage pipes. 1 Install valve and replace

Priorities lie, but especially the second and last point. Clear, that some current and well-tempered engine is important. The drainage pipe No.. 1 ends on the port side about 10 cm above the water line. In the last transfer of Kopperby to Kiel, I wondered sustained, why on starboard tack permanent water in streams of the space under the saloon seats on the refrigeration compressor and then flows into the bilge. On the long ride in the North Sea-Baltic Canal, I then discovered the reason for: The manual bilge pump sits under the bench seat and lounge next to the pump, the pipe joint damage.

Always, when we are sailing on starboard tack, So running sea water up the pipe and the beats a seat in the engine room. Reassuring. Erste Maßnahme wird nun also (in addition to the repair of the pipe joint) be, install a ball valve seacock. The through-hull is in fact the only one on board, wherein the tube just sitting on the hull. A security risk.

The next two weekends will be geklempnert first.
