Winter storms on land

Dear Readers,

Tile it here in the north for weeks. A storm chasing the next and in between there are more and sometimes a flood warning. It is incredibly warm for January, hard times, the thermometer dropped below three degrees plus. Snow? None. It constantly rain. Real autumn weather.

With our winter camps are some really nice friends, one of which regularly travels to the boats and the right looks. When we last on Boxing Day get an MMS with the photo of our boat and it still looked great all, Last weekend we were now in the series, Kopperby to go to the boats and pay a visit. Gutes Timing, because for the first time in ages the sun shone. It felt, as spring weather. The stormy weeks, however, had left their trace, tarpaulins hung torn down several of the boats and also the “Gipsy Girl” had suffered badly - in spite of all precautions, Carpet pieces and rags, with whom we had defused sharp corners on the ship. For example, the solar panels have eaten through the back of the canvas and the roof rack, I had built with perforated tape and batten, were all broken by the constant wobbling on punched tape.

Otherwise, everything was fine. No water in the bilge, no frayed ropes or other surprises. Only the pads felt a little clammy. Clear, Cushion in the winter you should really take the ship ... I've also 10 Years so handled. But the boat has a really good ventilation and padding for Voreigner spent almost a decade on board. But since we in the spring anyway need a little space to work, We have now brought in and spread out my kitchen in Hamburg before the heating. Now it smells to boot. No smell, no, But an unmistakable smell of boat.

This weekend begins the boot in Duesseldorf. I will probably first weekend on Saturday and Sunday be private at the show and then on the second weekend from Thursday to Sunday at Booth Hall of YACHT 16. I am particularly looking forward to the second Messe-Sunday, where I will welcome the participants of Roever Blue Water Seminar. I think no one is more excited about my speech, like myself... 😉 By the way, there are still places available!

On Wednesday YACHT is issue number 03/2012 Kiosk pm, are the two major stories of me. First, on 12 Sides of a Tour (Text and Photos) June of last year. Together with my father and my uncle, I'm nine days on “Gipsy Girl” sailed through the Danish South Sea. A beautiful area! In addition, the portrait of a woman, has sailed despite a completely normal life ashore quite fantastic journeys. Ricky Bordkuh (lives just as a lodger with me in Hamburg, as long as the boat is on land ...) has also been a nose tucked into the magazine:

We'll see you at the fair!

John
