More is better ...

Dear Readers,

This weekend, the soil temperatures here in the Oste finally climbed above the freezing. Twice as good for us, because on the one of the fuel oil tank at home already pretty empty - and especially now we came to, the “Maverick” after Gelcoatfräsen times flush thoroughly from below, to get the acid out of the nests osmosis from the laminate. Now it was not possible, rinsing, because otherwise we would have converted the whole winter in an ice warehouse. Anyway probably nothing would come out of the frozen water pipe ... Just in time for the first snowdrops and daffodils in the garden yesterday, so we made our way to the shipyard to Neuhaus.

The first task I had the whole osmosis nests - but at least some 60 Piece - open with a chisel and hammer, so we get along well with the water to the trapped acid. One hour of work. Cati is meanwhile also crawled under the fuselage around and has the points marked with a felt pen, I've missed the first tour.

Before flushing, we then carried out more quickly compared with the measurement of the moisture meter osmosis Nest, that was installed in the last message as teaser photo. A nice surprise: By value 29,9 Percent of the moisture content is at least 17,9 Percent slumped! The values can be naturally taken as an indication, because the little meter is meant for wood and masonry. But they show, that the body in the hall dries relatively quickly. So we can have hopes, that the hull can be processed very soon after a thorough cleaning of acid residues further.

The Shipyard Neuhaus had miraculously enough thick hoses available, allowing the conductor to the ship was quickly put. And then it started: Rinse three times round, pretty thoroughly, and always in the nests. One leads to the hose, one pushes the water with a big puller in the gutter on the hall floor. Again and again we had to take breaks, because the water is not fast enough expired. But after one and a half hours we were ready.

Comparative measurements with the pH-measuring rods give: It has brought much. The rods today show a much lower acidity in the nests. We will repeat the rinse again, but next time maybe just shoot specifically with the weed sprayer in the nests. Then we won't fabricate such a water chaos in the hall 😉
