Update: Funny experiment for 2020

Dear Readers,

während sich das Jahr dem Ende neigt, gibt es zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr immer wieder Gelegenheit, das Vergangene Revue passieren zu lassen und neue Pläne zu schmieden oder Vorsätze zu fassen. Meist sind es ja Dinge, which has been planned for a long time anyway, but now finally “make firm” will.

But if you are like all of us a few years ago (… or at least some) has burned bridges to his homeland, you have incomparable luxury: Having the choice, what you do. And we're really enjoying that right now! I've been back at work for three months, but we still live on board and have complete freedom of choice at the moment, where it takes us (around Hamburg) lost. Tips and ideas welcome! 🙂

Because it's a liberating feeling - but also a little scary, when you (like Cati) eine “The planning” and also wants to get somewhere. That's not just what we're thinking about right now, where we are moving to in the Hamburg area, but also what happens next for us in terms of sailing.

And then I came up with a funny idea (which I didn't come up with myself):

About seven years ago I came across a young man on the Internet, who wanted to have a boat. And he had a crazy plan - which actually worked in the end! Starting with an old Senseo coffee machine, he wanted to switch his way up to a boat. So he advertised the coffee machine on eBay classifieds and showed off, that he has no money, but just want another item, but a little higher quality.

Anyone who came across the Senseo on Ebay, Of course, I was looking for exactly such a coffee machine. The man accepted things in exchange, which the exchange partner could no longer use and then immediately advertised them again, to move forward. He actually ended up with a small motorboat. I took it on a test drive for BOOTE magazine and wrote down the story. She really inspired me back then.

That's why I thought: We'll try that out too. Let's see, Where it will take us sailing in the new year! Maybe I can make it to a dinghy? Or even more?

My exchange item is a bottle of rum. “Ricardo Dark Rum” from the Bahamas. Certainly not the best rum in the Caribbean, but a bottle of rum, like we always had on board in the Bahamas. Und das Beste: It's a bottle of rum, those from the Bahamas via Bermuda, Azores and Scotland sailed to Hamburg. There is also a signed book from us.
