Our friends asked us six years ago, selling their loved ones “Flow” to make it public. We were happy to help out a bit and Martin and Romina bought the boat in no time. At Instagram I constantly followed her journey.
Since the purchase is “Flow” sailed across the Atlantic again, has undergone many renovations and is now for sale again after a great trip. That's why they both asked me, to advertise the boat here again. In hopes, that happy owners will soon be found again.
Ich habe “Flow” zum ersten Mal in Lissabon getroffen. Das war im Jahr 2010, ein Job hatte mich damals dorthin gebracht. Also bin ich an einem Tag nach Feierabend am Doca de Alcantara entlang gelaufen, hab mir noch einmal den Hafen angeschaut, in dem meine große Reise mit “Maverick” fünf Jahre zuvor begonnen hatte – und dann lag da dieses schnittige Schiff am Steg.
Flow in Lissabon, 2010
The then owners Marcus and Anne are with their Delta 36 drei Jahre zuvor nach Brasilien gesegelt und haben viel Zeit in der Karibik verbracht. In the summer 2010 Marcus had just arrived in Lisbon a few days earlier, after sailing the ship single-handed and non-stop from the Caribbean across the Atlantic. A great trip. Pity, that I had missed him - he had already flown back to Germany and “Flow” lay alone on the jetty. I stood there and wrote both of them a text message. Minutes later came the answer, that I would like to climb on it. Of course I didn't miss that 😉
“A beautiful boat”, I wrote it down later in the blog, “I think, I do not know a fiberglass boat, The confidence-inspiring look. A real sea ship.” Für Blauwasserfahrten ist das Schiff nicht nur von der Konstruktion und vom Lebensraum her wunderbar geeignet, sondern auch noch perfekt dafür ausgerüstet.
Im Jahr 2011 haben Cati und ich den beiden dann per Ryan-Air einen Besuch auf den Kanaren abgestattet und sind fünf Tage mit an Bord der “Flow” been. Herrliche Segeltage. Damals hatten wir gerade ein Jahr lang unsere große “Gipsy Girl”. An den Abenden im Hafen von Los Christianos, an denen wir mit Marcus und Anne im Cockpit saßen und Rotwein tranken, in der großen Vorschiffskoje unter dem offenen Luk schliefen – und an den Tagen, an denen wir mit “Flow” über den aufgewühlten Atlantik preschten … haben wir uns damals entschlossen, dass wir genau solch ein Boot haben wollten. Doch die Delta 36 sind schwer zu bekommen, es wurden nur sehr wenige gebaut. Also ist es letztlich dann doch wieder eine Contest 33 geworden. Unfortunately we had 2014 We had already put too much work into the contest and were about to leave... otherwise we would have “Flow” bought myself.
By the way, mit meinem Eindruck der Stabilität hatte ich damals in Lissabon nicht unrecht. Im Jahr 2013 An identical ship stranded on Juist in the North Sea storm. Es war von den Wellen so weit auf den Strand geworfen worden, dass es dort nach Abflauen des Windes “High and Dry” lag. Ein Abtransport über Wasser nicht möglich war. Doch dann kam Wochen später der nächste Nordseesturm. Die Wellen schlugen so weit den Strand hinauf, dass die Delta 36 wieder aufschwamm und Kurs aufs Meer nahm. Einen Tag später strandete sie erneut – diesmal auf der Nachbarinsel Norderney(!). There she was better rescued - and is still swimming.
