Soon moving pictures!

Dear Readers,

Today, even a bit of technology: Two days ago I bought a new video camera. I tremble still, because for many years, I have not spent so much money for something, I did not immediately bolted to the boat ... The new camera is a dream! A Panasonic HDC-SD909EGK. The choice fell on this model, because I already 2005 with the model NV-GS75 have made great experiences. Now we are photo- Technically, video is more than well equipped: Full-HD-Kamera, to a small underwater camera and a Nikon D90-SLR. Still all amateur material, but hardly to be compared with the small notches picture and mini-DV cam, Blazed with whom I had during the last trip. As you've already seen, Photos are a big part of the regular Posts. As I'm still going to school, I have read many Weltumseglerbücher and Photos, later formally absorbed in my videos. Photos of Hidden Weltumsegleryachten for me were, Every detail has interested me. So I want on this page is a relatively extensive preparation- and then later deliver travel documentation. Photo- and so my videos are important tools. Is then cut it all with Final Cut Express on my uralt-Macbook. When the amounts of data, The video camera produces, Now it weakens a bit. Can it really, because it comes from 2007 and is also already sailed across the Atlantic – But I hope, I come out this year so.

At the 30. July we start the summer cruise. Two weeks ago, we have the time and only Sweden as a destination in mind. Let's see, what is the. Probetörn the last week has already survived the ship without problems. Technically, it is always better. Coming winter and spring, we want to be the next step, the Revision of the optic tackle. 30 Liters of paint I have in stock. Next summer, will also need new sails due. The old tissues have lost four Atlantic crossings under his belt and perfect their profile. Above all, the mainsail is a patchwork. On the trip to Atlantic “Maverick” I had almost all sailing from the seventies on board and had to constantly mend. This should be better this time.

With the work on the boat we are again a little further come. Even before the Denmark trip, I installed a new cooling water filters. The old one was over, the seal get broken and no replacement. When installing the new filter, it was a surprise: This is not much water pressure on the engine, We have closed the seacock for cooling water intake for each engine. Well I pulled the hose from the valve closed, to plug and adapt to a new – and the water gushed into the boat. The valve is not closed tightly! Not a nice feeling, to realize, that we just fall. I had sawed off the hose, it was not so easy to put up again. The new one was two millimeters too narrow, did not attach. Even in a water bath heated and made no soft. Apparently, the South African sea valves, no European standard. Eventually I found a fitting hose, I had to replace the fresh water system and abolished – and everything was tight. It was really an act, for hours face down in the engine room. But now everything is great. Behind the seacock I added a second in the tube. In the winter, but then a new through-hull with valve mounted.

We have also organized a big cleaning, a new shower curtain mounted and throw it out the old curtains in the bathroom and the pantry. Looks like a lot brighter, friendly and modern look. It's getting slow 🙂

Next weekend to continue.
